Henrik Ibsen documentation
Henrik Ibsen documentation center in Colle Isarco
On the tracks of the noble tourismus
Henrik Ibsen was a prominent Norwegian playwright and was considered the greatest poet of modernity in his death in 1906. In the second half of the 19th century he was seven times in holidays in Colle Isarco. In 1997 the meeting room of the Brennero city hall was dedicated to the best known tourist during the 8th International Ibsen Congress. Today the Henrik Ibsen memorial hall contains a documentation and exhibition on the writer's work.
Stories from the times of the Grand Hotels
On the traces of the playwright
During his summer vacation Henrik Ibsen lived at the Grand Hotel Gröbner. The playwright worked hard at night and cleaned the pen ink at the fountain every morning. The inhabitants of the village appreciated it very much. He liked to stroll alongside mountain streams. In Colle Isarco he met the young Viennese woman Emilie Bardach, who influenced the poet.
Be always happy beautiful lands! See you soon dear faithful men.
